Dr. Sadanand D. Joshi, President

Sada JoshiDr. Joshi founded JTI in 1988 after a successful nine-year tenure at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Drawing on his expertise in the field of horizontal well technology, he has guided the company to its current position, as both an international consulting and E&P company. In addition to his role as the CEO of the company, Dr. Joshi's primary responsibilities include international project origination/negotiation and strategic planning.

After earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering in his native country, India, Dr. Joshi obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1978. He is well known in the Oil & Gas industry for his technical papers and best-selling book on the subject, Horizontal Well Technology, which was published by PennWell in 1991. By virtue of his extensive scholarship in this area, he has gained numerous accolades, including being designated as a Distinguished Lecturer by the Society of Petroleum Engineers for the 1995-1996 season. At the beginning of 2000, Dr. Joshi was honored by the "Oil & Gas Investor" and was listed along with many well known names as one of the 100 Most Influential People of the Petroleum Century.

In March 2003, Dr. Joshi was named as a distinguished Alumnus by his alma mater, IIT Bombay, India. Iowa State University presented Dr. Joshi with the Anson Marston medal, their highest engineering award, for his outstanding engineering contribution to the oil industry, in 2012. The 80,000-member Society of Petroleum Engineers awarded him two of their most prestigious awards: in 2016, he received the IOR Pioneer Award for significant contributions to IOR and EOR, and in 2018 – the John Franklin Carll Award, for his contributions to the development of horizontal well technology.

Dr. Joshi has consulted on over 200 active projects all over the world, and has taught the Horizontal Well Technology course in the United States and internationally. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce.

Claudette Joshi, Legal Counsel

Claudette Joshi has held the positions of Secretary/Treasurer and Legal Counsel of JTI for the last 35 years. She holds degrees in Spanish, French, and Public Administration specializing in Foreign Service. She obtained her J.D. degree from the University of Tulsa in 1987, and has specialized in corporate law since that time. She helped negotiate the first production sharing contract with the Government of India and oversees company contracts. She is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Manuel Corrales, Senior Project Manager

Manuel Corrales has over 45 years of experience in field production activities. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering & a graduate degree in Environmental Science from Colombia and is currently heading our field operations in the Dholka & Wavel field, India. Prior to joining Union Temporal, Manuel gained extensive field experience, during his tenure as District Superintendent with Texaco in Colombia. He also has 15 years of "Heavy Oil" field operations experience.

Chirag Patel, Business Development Director

Chirag Patel has close to 20 years of experience in project development, reserves assessment, field development planning and budgeting, international taxation, and Acquisition & Development. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering in India, his Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and his Master's Degree in General Finance from the University of Tulsa. His experience includes the planning of drilling and workover activities, evaluating and implementing recovery improvement methods, supporting new project startups, and supervising the finance and taxation details for projects in India. He has considerable expertise in handling and treatment of oilfield produced water and has co- authored a paper on this topic. He is the leader of A&D activities and is actively looking for opportunities within the US.

Ray Pierson, Reservoir Simulation Specialist

Ray Pierson has over 50 years of experience in reservoir simulation. Prior to his work with JTI, he was a key developer of reservoir simulation software used by Phillips Petroleum Company and ConocoPhillips Company. His responsibilities also included maintenance, liaison, documentation, and training for reservoir simulation software and its use. In 1999, Mr. Pierson and his fellow team members were awarded the Phillips Technology Achievement Award for leading-edge, in-house reservoir simulation technology and application to Phillips' oil and gas fields worldwide. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Mathematics.

Ed Kepford, Senior Accounting and Finance Manager

Ed Kepford has almost 35 years of experience in accounting and financial functions for both public and private companies.  Prior to his work at JTI, he worked for WPX Energy as manager of International Accounting and SEC reporting serving WPX’s international business unit.  He also worked in the accounting and tax departments in various roles for the Williams Companies.  He has worked at PostRock Energy and Samson Resources II as a financial reporting consultant.  Mr. Kepford is Certified Public Accountant and has a B.S. Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
